Requirements
Must:
- Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience required.
- Proficiency in designing, developing, and testing real-time systems including signal processing algorithms.
- Substantial experience in developing DSP modules in embedded real-time settings, utilizing C or C++ on platforms such as commercial DSPs and ARMs.
- Strong grasp of wired and wireless communication systems as well as digital signal processing techniques for analog and digital waveform transmission and reception.
- Knowledge in communication theory applications encompassing signal processing, decision theory, estimation theory, and modulation-demodulation.
- Experience in Systems Engineering related to data communications architectures and telecom network design, along with protocol analysis and selection.
- Familiarity with computer networking protocols like TCP/UDP/IP, RTP, MPLS, and NDN.
- Expertise in Embedded Hardware Interfacing technologies including SPI, TDM, Ethernet, USB, and I2C.
- Understanding of telecom protocol standards such as ITU-T, IETF, and 3GPP.
- Demonstrated aptitude for creative problem-solving, critical thinking, troubleshooting, collaborative teamwork, and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline, or 10+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Responsibilities
- Design efficient DSP algorithms suitable for implementation on embedded processors.
- Architect and implement firmware designs utilizing bare metal, RTOS, and Linux environments.
- Evaluate the performance of algorithms by assessing resource requirements such as MIPS, ROM, and RAM.
- Collaborate with fellow engineers on software and hardware development tasks, including algorithm prototyping, tuning, and performance testing.
- Investigate emerging technologies and assess their potential integration into VOCAL’s custom product offerings for enhancements.
