Systems Engineer – FAA Voice Switch Systems

Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (options include civil, electrical, electronic, chemical, industrial, mechanical, aeronautical, or computer)
- Background in systems integration, test engineering, or related technical positions
- Knowledge of formal engineering review processes (PDR, CDR, TRR) or similar program lifecycle frameworks
- Capability to comprehend and interpret technical specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), and system requirements
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; capable of documenting and articulating technical findings effectively
- Active or current eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance (Public Trust or higher)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, software configuration management, or deployment automation (preferred)
- Experience in FAA ATC communication, navigation, surveillance, and information systems (preferred)
- Practical experience with RF voice network configuration (TCP/IP, routing, switching) in operational or lab environments (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Configure and set up system hardware and software to facilitate VCS production activities
- Implement software builds and establish configuration baselines for both lab and operational environments
- Adjust voice network parameters, system settings, and environmental variables across testing and production platforms
- Assist with software integration across various FAA ATC subsystems and environments
- Contribute to System Integration Testing (SIT), Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
- Create and execute test procedures in alignment with program requirements
- Diagnose integration issues, record root cause conclusions, and track resolutions until completion
- Prepare documentation for and engage in formal engineering reviews such as PDR, CDR, and Test Readiness Review (TRR)
- Coordinate engineering activities among teams and disciplines
- Identify, log, and monitor technical risks; generate risk reports for program leadership
- Produce concise technical documentation throughout the FAA systems engineering program lifecycle
