Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 5 years of practical experience working with Qualys.
- Ability to commute to either Beltsville, MD or Washington, DC for full-time on-site responsibilities.
- Must possess an Active Secret clearance and be eligible to acquire a Top Secret clearance.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Knowledgeable in network protocols, OS security (Windows/Linux), and web application vulnerabilities.
- Familiar with compliance standards and frameworks, such as NIST 800-53, CIS Controls, and ISO 27001.
- Experienced in Qualys Vulnerability Management & Policy Compliance.
- Skilled in Qualys Web Application Scanning.
- Ability to automate processes using Qualys APIs.
- Understanding of network architecture and associated protocols.
- Knowledge of database and operating system security principles.
- Proficient in vulnerability lifecycle management and remediation strategies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Capable of working independently or in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment.
- Proven documentation and reporting skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day functions of the Qualys platform, including agents, scanners, and connectors.
- Enhance scan configurations, authentication methods, and deployment templates.
- Analyze and interpret scan results to produce actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, development, and SOC teams to validate findings and promote remediation actions.
- Utilize Qualys APIs and custom scripts to automate tasks for reporting and data integration.
- Ensure an accurate asset inventory is maintained through discovery and classification workflows.
- Reduce false positives through effective tuning and validation.
- Perform compliance assessments to adhere to regulatory frameworks.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts regarding best practices in vulnerability management.
Description
At Staffing Pros, a division of VETS Inc., we are looking to hire a full-time Qualys Security Engineer to join our team in either Washington, DC or Beltsville, MD. This position necessitates an Active Secret Clearance. The selected candidate will support our clients enterprise vulnerability management efforts by maintaining and optimizing Qualys toolsets, executing vulnerability assessments, and collaborating with technical teams to enhance the cybersecurity posture of the organization.
