Requirements
Must:
- I independently conduct in-depth analysis, design, and development of cloud-native applications. This includes innovative problem-solving and integration with custom applications, packaged software solutions, and legacy systems.
- I leverage technologies such as ASP.Net, C#, JavaScript, Java, and SQL to deliver robust solutions.
- I replace existing code and systems with automated processes, including Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
- I design and implement high-quality, scalable code to manage large volumes of data.
- I reverse engineer legacy code to troubleshoot issues and facilitate migration to modern platforms.
- I develop new user interface components, features, and applications.
- I build Web Services, Microservices, and API architectures as needed.
- I utilize DevOps practices to manage and enhance the build and deployment pipeline.
- I collaborate with the Scrum team to plan sprints and ensure timely delivery of features.
- I review code change requests to identify potential enhancements and prevent errors prior to code approval and release.
- I drive the design of major features within the engineering team by leading design review sessions and ensuring new features align with the existing architecture.
- I partner closely with product owners to prioritize features and synchronize delivery by organizing tasks within the team and coordinating efforts with other teams.
- I take ownership of high-impact features or initiatives.
- I assess legacy systems to identify the need for APIs, microservices, and database conversions, creating these services as required.
- I propose and implement solutions to enhance system functionality.
- I assist in transitioning system components to new platforms as needed.
Responsibilities
- I possess critical skills necessary for this position, including:
- Proficiency in Linux and Docker administration.
- Knowledge of .NET and Java.
- Expertise in SQL database administration.
- Familiarity with MariaDB and MongoDB.
- Administrative and development knowledge for Apache Solr, Payara, AWS Code Commit, and CI/CD Pipeline.
- AWS certification is preferred.
- Experience in federal projects is preferred.
- Proficient in developing and applying tools for process automation, including RPA tools.
- Experienced in developing large-scale full-stack solutions, excelling in both front-end and back-end development.
- Skilled in writing stored procedures.
- Knowledgeable in multiple programming languages (C#, .NET, Python) and scripting technologies.
- Experienced in web services (SOAP, REST), messaging patterns, publish-subscribe models, APIs, batching, etc.
- I can work with XML schemas and JSON effectively.
- I have experience developing APIs, microservices, and converting databases.
- I have hands-on experience migrating legacy applications to AWS.
- Familiar with best practices for application design principles and design patterns.
- I have experience working in teams using Agile methodologies.
- Knowledgeable in cloud application architecture design, migration, and reverse engineering.
- Proficient in the configuration and deployment of cloud applications.
- Experienced with Windows, Linux, and Ubuntu operating systems.
- I have a strong grasp of web fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, HTTP).
- Competent in using Git for version control.
- Quick to learn new tools, languages, and techniques, as well as comfortable with older languages and libraries as needed.
- I hold a deep understanding of application design principles and patterns.
Description
I have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (or I may substitute five years of experience in software development for the degree). I have a minimum of 7 years of experience as a software developer utilizing technologies like Java, C#, or .NET. This role is a full-time position with an annual salary ranging from $125,000.00 to $140,000.00. We offer a competitive benefits package that includes a 401(k), dental insurance, health insurance, paid sick leave, and paid time off. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and substantial software development experience of at least 7 years, particularly in Java, C#, and .NET. An AWS certification is a plus. Candidates must have the ability to commute to Alexandria, VA, or be willing to relocate before starting work. This position requires in-person attendance.
