Requirements
Must:
- 1 to 4 years of experience in software engineering focusing on building robust and scalable systems.
- Proficient in high-level programming languages like Python or Java, with familiarity in C++.
- Experience with asynchronous programming and web fundamentals including JavaScript and HTTP.
- Foundational knowledge of networking principles, specifically TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, and proxies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a knack for debugging intricate distributed systems.
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivated individual with a genuine interest in acquiring new technologies and knowledge.
- Preferred but not required: Familiarity with diagnostic network tools such as Wireshark and Pico.
- Understanding of encryption and security best practices along with their impacts on performance.
- Knowledge of data analytics, visualization techniques, or performance optimization methods.
- Experience with client-facing support or DevOps practices, especially in financial or enterprise contexts.
Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain distributed applications and systems.
- Collaborate with clients, including occasional on-site interactions, to address critical issues with the Tradeweb Viewer.
- Diagnose and resolve complex connectivity problems related to networking protocols, proxies, and client-server interactions.
- Optimize the performance, reliability, and scalability of applications using technologies such as Python, JavaScript, and C++.
- Analyze network traffic with tools like Wireshark to trace the root causes of latency and connectivity failures.
- Design and implement data-driven solutions that facilitate monitoring, analytics, and improvements in systems.
- Work collaboratively with engineering teams to ensure high application performance and reliability.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, adopting and implementing best practices in software engineering, testing, and deployment.
