Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Over 5 years of experience in developing web-based applications using Java/J2EE technologies
- Proficient in Core Java (including multi-threading and the Executor framework)
- Extensive experience with Spring, Spring MVC, Hibernate, and MyBatis
- Skilled in RESTful web services development and integration
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript, JSP, CSS, HTML, Angular, and modern JavaScript libraries (e.g., jQuery, AJAX, XML/XSLT, JSON)
- Familiar with application servers like JBoss, Apache, and Tomcat
- Expertise in SQL database design, stored procedures, and performance optimization
- Experience using GitHub Copilot in Agent mode for Java development
- Ability to create solutions that are compatible across browsers and platforms
- Solid understanding of web application security best practices
- Preferred: Background in developing property & casualty insurance applications
- Preferred: Familiarity with non-functional requirements including performance tuning and scalability strategies
- Personal traits: self-motivated, organized, and adept at prioritizing tasks in high-pressure situations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with meticulous attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Business Analysts to convert business requirements into technical specifications
- Develop, test, and maintain quality source code across the entire technology stack
- Create and carry out unit tests; assist with functional and system integration testing
- Engage in deployment tasks and provide production support as necessary
- Design and integrate application components to ensure seamless interoperability
- Ensure that solutions meet the performance, scalability, maintainability, and security criteria
