Requirements

Must:
- Proven understanding of networking principles: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching - In-depth knowledge of Windows Server versions 2012 R2 to 2022: encompassing AD, DNS, DHCP, file services, GPO - Proficient in Active Directory: including user/group management, organizational unit structure, security groups, troubleshooting - Skilled in Microsoft 365 administration: covering Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune - Familiarity with server monitoring and RMM tools (Datto RMM preferred) - Comprehensive knowledge of network security: including firewalls, VPNs, security best practices - Experience with PSA/ticketing systems (HaloPSA preferred) - Ability to interpret and generate network diagrams and technical documents - Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery concepts and processes - Minimum 3-5 years of IT support experience in a managed service provider or enterprise setting - Established history in client onboarding, migrations, or infrastructure projects - Exceptional customer service and communication skills (both written and verbal) - Strong project coordination and effective time management skills - High level of detail orientation with a process-focused mindset - Capability to work autonomously in client settings with minimal oversight - Professional demeanor suitable for client-facing situations - Valid drivers license and dependable transportation (essential for travel) - Comfortable lifting and moving IT equipment (up to 50 lbs) - Willingness to travel 20% of the time overnight (with prior notice)

Responsibilities

- Travel to client locations to conduct thorough assessments of infrastructure - Execute extensive evaluations of server environments (both physical and virtual) - Document network architectures, switching, routing, firewall setups, and VPN infrastructures - Analyze Active Directory configurations, group policy objects, user/group structure, and security measures - Review Microsoft 365 tenant configurations, licensing, and readiness for migration - Complete inventories of workstations and mobile devices along with hardware specifications - Install and set up Datto RMM agents while confirming monitoring capabilities - Perform device setup, user account creation, and access validation in line with project plans - Conduct training for users on new systems, security protocols, and support procedures - Generate detailed documentation of environments, asset inventories, and network diagrams - Facilitate technical transitions to Service Desk, vCIO, and Projects teams - Adhere to onboarding checklists and standard operating procedures, while adjusting to specific client needs - Address escalated technical issues in the Tier 2 service desk when not engaged in onboarding - Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to Windows Server, Active Directory, and network connections - Troubleshoot administration challenges within Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams) - Conduct server patch management, monitoring, and performance assessments via Datto RMM - Set up and debug VPN connections, DNS problems, and network routing issues - Develop and update technical documentation within the HaloPSA knowledge base - Guide Tier 1 technicians through mentoring and providing support - Participate in after-hours support rotation as required - Maintain meticulous ticket records and perform root cause analyses
