We are seeking candidates with the following skills, knowledge, and abilities: - Proficiency in using various tools and equipment necessary for the role. - Ability to test computer hardware, network devices, and software applications. - Experience with the installation, maintenance, and repair of both virtual and physical server infrastructure. - Knowledge of cyber-security incident management and response using contemporary security platforms. - Understanding of TCP/IP protocols, internet addressing, multicast networking, VRF route management, and route manipulation. - Familiarity with dual path internet routing utilizing BGP and EIGRP protocols. - Expertise in network security, including authentication, segmentation, device onboarding, scalable group tags, and access control. - Experience with Cisco and Aruba network components such as switches, routers, and wireless access points. - Comprehensive understanding of advanced networking concepts including DNS, Active Directory, LDAP, SMTP, HTTP, and HTTPS. - Willingness to participate in after-hours upgrades and troubleshooting as needed. - Awareness of information security frameworks, vulnerability databases, access control, identity management, and encryption tools. - Knowledge of relevant laws, guidelines, codes, regulations, and rules pertaining to educational technology use and security practices. - Strong principles in project planning, management, time management, and problem-solving. - Familiarity with network management software, routers, switches, and firewalls. - Adherence to safe working practices.

Responsibilities

In this position, you will be responsible for: 1. Leading the planning and implementation of changes to infrastructure servers and software to enhance performance and security against cyber threats. 2. Building, patching, testing, and deploying complex networks to meet district specifications. 3. Managing and maintaining district network systems including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, IP phone infrastructure, and wireless networks. 4. Deploying network policies to client devices through management systems and group policy. 5. Monitoring and maintaining tools to ensure high availability of network resources. 6. Performing server maintenance including upgrades, patches, and backups. 7. Addressing security vulnerabilities on network equipment. 8. Responding to system outages during and after district operating hours. 9. Leading the planning and implementation of various network infrastructure systems. 10. Installing, maintaining, and enhancing the security of complex network services. 11. Assisting in the management of data centers, disaster recovery facilities, and cloud-hosted services. 12. Collaborating with support technicians and teams to resolve network, security, and system-related issues. 13. Monitoring and reporting on network component performance, taking preemptive measures to minimize disruptions. 14. Developing and maintaining network documentation for support and compliance. 15. Leading backup and recovery process planning, implementation, and testing. 16. Establishing a Risk Assessment program to secure critical assets and determine vulnerabilities. 17. Analyzing network security events and participating in audits and penetration testing. 18. Tuning network systems for improved health and efficiency. 19. Maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders to manage technology solutions. 20. Keeping network systems updated and patched. 21. Ensuring network security includes user access and authentication, monitoring, and data integrity. 22. Researching new technologies to enhance network services and stability. 23. Assisting in the identification of new applications to improve network efficiency. 24. Developing written policies and procedures ensuring data and security protection. 25. Leading cybersecurity training sessions and phishing campaigns for prevention. 26. Ensuring the effective implementation of network-related systems, including testing and validation. 27. Preparing time and cost estimates for network system development and implementation. 28. Performing system management functions such as adding users and managing network privileges. 29. Participating in staff meetings and professional development activities. 30. Staying current with new technologies and software. 31. Performing related duties as assigned.

Description


This is a full-time position with an hourly pay range of $37.68 to $45.85, with expected work hours of 40 each week. The physical requirements include the ability to lift no more than 50 pounds occasionally and frequently carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds. We welcome candidates with a combination of experience and training that equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills, typically including three years of recent experience in networking within large enterprise organizations. While a Bachelor’s degree is preferred, it is not mandatory.
