Requirements
Must:
I require a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field, along with five years of experience in the design, troubleshooting, and management of medium- to large-sized complex enterprise TCP/IP networks. Responsibilities
In this role, I will need you to provide high-level design (IPv4 and IPv6), troubleshooting, and management for our University Network. Your tasks will include contributing to the architecture, design, implementation, and dependable operation of our wired and wireless network infrastructure, which serves academic, research, administrative, and residential areas. You will resolve issues for applications running over the local University network and the Internet. Additionally, you will configure, troubleshoot, and maintain our Voice over IP infrastructure, E-911, wireless systems, firewalls, VPNs, routers, switches, DWDM, and Ethernet technologies. Your efforts will be critical in ensuring our networking services are scalable, reliable, and highly available, aligning with our institutional priorities. You will also lead complex network projects, collaborate with central and distributed IT personnel, and engage with various stakeholders throughout the University.
Description
I am looking for a candidate with desirable qualifications such as experience in network performance monitoring and debugging tools, 802.1x, Radius, and/or SAML/SSO authentication, wireless technology, network intrusion detection, IPv6, IP video, VoIP, EIGRP, BGP, as well as network and server virtualization. Familiarity with automation, scripting technologies, and version control will be beneficial. Additionally, knowledge of research and education networking (e.g., Internet2, eduroam) and high-throughput research data flows (e.g., Science DMZ concepts) would be highly advantageous. The anticipated pay range for this role is $110,000 to $130,000. Please be aware that a probationary period may be required, and occasional evening or weekend work might be necessary. This position is ineligible for telework due to essential functions, and a background check will be required. The position is exempt from FLSA and is part of the union. The role is located in Burlington, Vermont, and we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
