Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Significant experience (5 years) in system and database management within a business or financial systems setting
- Significant experience (5 years) in supporting an enterprise and relational database system
- Extensive experience (5 years) with Microsoft Office suite and reporting or BI tools
- Progressive experience (3 years) in developing, enhancing, and supporting applications
- Availability for occasional evening and weekend hours as projects require
- Willingness to travel to off-campus locations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree
- Eight or more years of experience as a business analyst
- Familiarity with fundraising principles, related policies and regulations, and industry best practices
- Demonstrated experience in database management with various fundraising systems (e.g., Advance, Millennium, Raisers Edge, Salesforce)
- Proficiency with Cognos BI and Crystal Reports platforms
- Experience in a higher education setting
- Knowledge of CASE Reporting Standards and Management Guidelines
- Background in project management and structured systems analysis techniques, including agile system development approaches
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce, particularly in data-intensive roles

Responsibilities
As the Data Administrator, I will serve as the primary technical expert in our Advancement division, ensuring the effective management and optimization of our fundraising systems and data operations. I will collaborate with the UMass Foundation, campus IT, and end users to maintain data integrity and accessibility while leading efforts to adopt new technologies. I am responsible for overseeing data quality, developing automated processes, and applying best practices across IT platforms.
I will also manage reporting and analytics to meet the needs of our Advancement team, prepare training documentation, and provide user support for our fundraising system and associated platforms. Supervision of data entry staff will be part of my role, where I will guide their professional development through training and performance feedback. Additionally, I will coordinate staffing resources to ensure our department can effectively meet organizational goals.

My role will be crucial in transforming user requests into effective technological solutions while adhering to data governance policies. I am committed to fostering a collaborative team environment, contributing to our mission of promoting student success and philanthropic growth. The salary for this role ranges from $82,000 to $110,000, and I am glad to offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes employer-paid health insurance, paid holidays, and tuition credit among others.
