Requirements
Must:
- Extensive experience in supporting large, high-performance enterprise and research networks in academic or similar settings
- Strong expertise in WAN design and management
- Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools
- In-depth knowledge of DNS services
- Familiarity with software tool support and deployment strategies
- Proven ability to lead production network migrations with minimal service disruption
- Experience with vendor platform evaluation and selection for network deployments
- Hands-on skills in maintaining DWDM optical systems, routers, and switches
- Capability in managing dark fiber and physical infrastructure
- Knowledge of both IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity standards
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced network design and implementation for the MAX network
- Conduct research to support current and next-generation network infrastructures
- Perform hands-on maintenance and operational support across various network layers
- Lead or assist in network migration projects with a focus on minimizing service interruptions
- Evaluate and select vendor platforms for upcoming network deployments
- Ensure reliable connectivity across wide area research and education networks
- Engage in high-level architectural planning for network enhancements
