Requirements

Must:
- Associates degree with six years of relevant experience; OR Bachelors degree and four years in a related role; OR eight years of applicable experience. - Proficiency in object-oriented programming (OOP). - Practical experience with modern frameworks for backend and web application development (e.g., C#, .NET / .NET Core, or similar). - Professional background with frontend libraries and frameworks utilized in contemporary web applications (e.g., Angular, React, or similar). - Familiarity with software design patterns, system architecture, and integration methods. - Working knowledge of web technologies, APIs, and service-oriented or distributed systems. - Experience with relational databases and foundational data management principles. - Demonstrable understanding of data modeling and query optimization. - Practical knowledge of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) concepts and data integration techniques. - Proven understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD) concepts and tools. - Experience with the software development lifecycle, development methodologies, and version control systems.

Responsibilities

- Utilize in-depth technical expertise to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications. - Identify, troubleshoot, and assist in resolving software defects and system problems. - Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders to comprehend requirements and enhance software solutions. - Write and sustain clear, well-documented code that adheres to established standards. - Create and update technical documentation corresponding to code alterations and new features. - Facilitate integration with databases, APIs, and various other systems. - Conduct code reviews, testing, and quality assurance tasks. - Adhere to best practices about security, data protection, and system reliability. - Develop strategies and processes to guarantee system or service availability. - Plan software development and implementation activities. - Contribute to technical projects within a cross-functional team. - Work alongside senior technical personnel in the installation, upgrading, and maintenance of application systems. - Perform additional duties as required.

We are the Connecticut Transportation Institute (CTI), part of the University of Connecticuts College of Engineering. Our mission is to advance integrated multidisciplinary research and education that enhances safety and efficiency in multi-modal passenger and freight transportation systems. We are currently looking for a full-stack software developer to support our research and development efforts pertaining to enterprise software for transportation systems in Connecticut. This full-time role is located at the Storrs Campus. We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $105,000, along with excellent benefits including employee and dependent tuition waivers at UConn and a positive work environment. Employment is subject to a successful background check.
