Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience/training - Over 7 years of experience leading and managing a medium-sized IT organization/function - 2-5 years of senior management experience in a medium-sized IT organization - Proven experience in hiring, supervising, and managing technical staff - Extensive knowledge of information technology principles, theories, and practices - Experience in managing ongoing technology infrastructure acquisition and expansion, as well as identifying and integrating emerging technologies - Experience in adapting and modifying existing programs or vendor products within a large technical environment - Experience managing multi-platform environments to support diverse constituents - Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and vendor IT products - Ability to understand and address the needs of diverse user groups - Proven experience in developing and managing IT budgets, plans, and projections for senior executives - Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to varied audiences - Experience in conceptualizing and managing multiple IT projects that meet organizational objectives on time and within budget - In-depth knowledge of information security best practices and frameworks - Leadership experience in implementing institution-wide technology solutions with a focus on process improvements - Demonstrated success in managing change across divisions - Experience in managing IT in a dispersed environment, accommodating diverse statewide programs and activities - Ability to develop and communicate a visionary perspective on the role of information technology in higher education

Responsibilities

- Direct and manage a multi-unit IT department ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and service delivery - Implement and administer UC ANRs IT infrastructure, applications, and processes - Develop an effective operating model for UC ANR IT, balancing centralization with decentralization - Ensure adherence to IT budgets, schedules, and performance requirements while optimizing the applications portfolio - Collaborate with functional units to identify technology solutions that enhance business processes - Support the adoption of digital tools, including AI, for improved communication and collaboration - Work with the Chief Information Security Officer to ensure robust information security and privacy strategies - Foster a culture of customer service and collaboration within UC ANR and across the UC IT community - Provide broad IT leadership, consulting with executives and functional leaders - Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement an IT vision and strategic plan - Assess and evaluate departmental goals for continuous improvement - Advise on security and situational risks within information technology - Represent UC ANR in systemwide work groups and councils, sharing knowledge on IT improvements
