Requirements
Must:
- Demonstrated experience in professional application development with advanced skills in large-scale software design, modification, implementation, and deployment.

- Competent in SVG authoring for scalable vector graphics.
- Strong project management and business analysis abilities.
- Experience in creating or maintaining mobile applications or websites.
- Knowledgeable in Structured Query Language (SQL), including database structure and design.
- Background in maintaining, refactoring, and upgrading legacy systems.
- Capable of providing training for technical and non-technical staff.
- Critical thinking skills to evaluate various inputs (scientific, user, and feature requirements) and make informed design decisions balancing user experience and architecture.
- Skillful in guiding technical direction and establishing strategic priorities for application development even in resource-constrained environments.
- Demonstrable experience in user experience design, visual design, and technical architecture.
- Ability to develop, design, and present technical or informational documentation for various training sessions.
- Proficient in understanding functional requirements and how systems can address them, as well as in developing system conversion and implementation plans.
- Advanced experience in planning for deployment and creating feedback mechanisms.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills for collaboration with faculty, staff, and other users. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Quick to grasp new concepts.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage progress across multiple projects, distribute efforts effectively, meet deadlines, and maintain high productivity levels.
- Experience with functional programming concepts such as LINQ in C#.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software applications and services by researching, designing, writing, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting source code across server, mobile, and desktop frameworks.
- Contribute to the design of databases, user interfaces, and system integrations.
- Engage in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, quality assurance, maintenance, and documentation.
- Collaborate with researchers and stakeholders to align applications with research-based models and functional needs in agriculture.
- Utilize .NET languages, SQL, TypeScript/JavaScript, SASS, HTML5, and SVG for web and mobile application development, as well as web services.
- Analyze existing systems, devise algorithms for new software implementations, and ensure scientifically accurate decision support.
- Conduct data analysis, testing, and debugging processes.
- Stay updated on new web development standards, tools, and technologies, implementing security best practices.
- Prepare and secure approval for system documentation and revise development and system standards as necessary.
- Define technical requirements for software specifications and create test plans.
- Develop plans for system conversions and implementation while performing data modeling and integration testing.
- Create thorough technical documentation to support development, deployment, and troubleshooting efforts.
- Adhere to IT team standards, development guidelines, and best practices for consistency and maintainability.
- Participate in project management, business analysis, technical architecture, user experience, and visual design throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with researchers and farm advisors to assess requirements, ensuring applications provide value to users.
- Manage project management and business analysis tasks during the development lifecycle, evaluating third-party solutions and offering integration support.
- Provide assistance and training to staff regarding applications, acting as a consultant throughout the application development process, and delivering necessary application documentation.
