Requirements
Must:
- Three years of progressive supervisory experience in a Medical Records Department.
- RHIA or RHIT certification is mandatory.
- CCS certification is required.
- Associates degree in Health Information Technology is essential.
- Preferred Bachelors degree in Health Information Management.
- Strong leadership and customer service capabilities with a collaborative approach.
- Extensive knowledge of medical records systems.
- Proven ability to develop, support, and execute continuous improvement initiatives.
- Comprehensive understanding of system and departmental policies and procedures.
- Profound awareness of legal aspects regarding record confidentiality.
- Superior written and verbal communication abilities, including grammar and style.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and project management skills.

Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, oversee, and control daily operations of Medical Records Coding Associates, both inpatient and outpatient.
- Ensure medical records are accurate, legible, and complete, while maintaining confidentiality.
- Analyze code assignments for accuracy to maximize timely reimbursement.
- Operate within established practices, exercising independent judgment under set guidelines.
- Monitor quality improvement to ensure compliance with department standards and procedures.
- Identify process issues and actively seek to implement effective solutions.
