Requirements
Must:
- 4+ years of experience in Graphic Design OR an Associates Degree with 3 years of Graphic Design experience OR a Bachelors Degree with 2 years of experience in Graphic Design
- Degree may be in Graphic Design, Graphic Art, Fine Art, or a closely related field
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- CSS and HTML skills are preferred
- Experience with digital design tools such as Figma and Adobe Express
- Strong creative skills, including illustration, motion graphics, and web design
- Ability to process creative feedback and make revisions promptly and efficiently
- Proficient in using project management systems; strong organizational and time management abilities with a track record of meeting project deadlines and budget constraints
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse colleagues to produce high-quality, on-brand designs while communicating respectfully
- Experience working with approved vendors for print production, collateral development, and mailing services
- Commitment to maintaining accessibility standards in design and a strong focus on fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team of designers within Advancement Communications to support various units, including the UO Alumni Association
- Uphold visual identity and branding for UO Brand Management and Trademark Licensing, University Advancement, and the UOAA
- Create high-quality marketing, branding, and communication materials for both traditional and digital platforms
- Design materials for a variety of audiences, including donors, alumni, students, parents and families, and university supporters
- Produce designs for print, social media, web, email, video, and environmental applications
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to deadlines and budget constraints
- Prioritize project timelines in accordance with workload demands
- Assess workflows proactively, identify areas for enhancement, and implement improvements to boost design capabilities
Description
We are a committed team within the University Advancement department, dedicated to supporting the University of Oregons mission of exceptional teaching, discovery, and service. With about 200 employees primarily based in Eugene and additional locations in Portland and Bend, our team fosters an environment centered on equity and inclusion. As part of the Advancement Strategies and Technology Innovation department, we focus on strategic solutions for engagement and fundraising. The Graphic Designer will be integral in collaborating with the Donor Relations and Advancement Communications team, contributing to impactful donor and communication programs that drive university-wide engagement.
