Requirements
Must:
- College diploma in computing
- Experience with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting micro-computers and related software and equipment
- In-depth knowledge of MS Office suite, Windows operating systems, and familiarity with Apple products
- Understanding of System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
- Proficiency in programming and development environments
- Familiarity with enterprise networks and communication protocols
- Awareness of cybersecurity practices and sensitive data protection
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English, both written and spoken
- Strong initiative, discernment, and tact
- Methodical and precision-based working style
- Capability to prioritize tasks and make decisions effectively
- Excellent listening and advisory skills
- Team-oriented with strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to administrative staff, faculty, and students
- Manage network and email user accounts
- Keep current records of IT equipment inventories
- Set up and repair audiovisual equipment for events
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to software, operating systems, and hardware
- Install, verify, and update software on micro-computers
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with micro-computers and their components
- Recommend, install, and maintain both servers and micro-computers
- Sustain core systems including virtual servers, antivirus software, and backups
- Deliver basic support for institutional systems like PaperCut and Raisers Edge
- Implement and support IT policies and protocols
- Monitor and assist with network component operations
- Document installation and user procedures
- Ensure uninterrupted service for the universitys network infrastructure and servers
- Perform backups and conduct diagnostics for performance monitoring
- Stay informed about new technologies and assess systems for improvement
- Automate and integrate systems requiring programming
- Proactively identify enhancements for effective IT use
- Attend strategic IT planning meetings and collaborate with university IT services
- Identify training requirements and communicate with the supervisor
- Provide guidance and support as a resource for users
- Undertake additional tasks assigned by the supervisor as needed
- Be prepared to work outside of regular hours in emergencies
