Requirements
Must:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of three years of multi-specialty coding experience
- Proficient in coding Professional services and/or Outpatient professional and hospital technical services
- Experience in communicating, training, and educating providers
- Knowledge of coding guidelines, anatomy and physiology, biology, microbiology, medical terminology, and medical abbreviations is advantageous
- Required certifications: CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT, CIC, COC, CPC, CPC-A, or CRC from AHIMA or AAPC

Responsibilities
- Accurately codes and audits professional services for inpatient and outpatient technical services across various specialties
- Reviews documentation in EPIC and/or paper format to assign correct ICD-10-CM, PCS, and CPT codes
- Communicates with the education team and providers regarding documentation clarification and opportunities for improvement
- Utilizes encoder and/or Optum software to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures
- Sequences diagnoses and procedures to ensure clean claims align with coding guidelines
- Verifies all ADT information for charge sessions like date of service and billing provider
- Participates in coding education sessions and obtains necessary CEUs for certification
- Reviews and edits coding-related charges and claims daily to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Meets productivity and quality standards according to coding compliance and federal regulations
- Addresses PB/HB claim edits and resolve reject errors on a daily basis
- Works on hospital DNBs as assigned by specialty
- Ensures all services provided are efficiently documented for coding
