Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree; or 4 years of relevant experience may substitute for degree.
- 10 years of experience in Information Technology, including at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
- Experience in technology application development and/or infrastructure and operational implementation.
- Extensive knowledge in at least one technology domain (application, infrastructure, operations, scalability, availability, performance, people, process, tools).
- Proven ability to communicate complex technology decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong track record of building high-trust relationships with management and stakeholders.
- Understanding of technical architecture standards, principles, policies, and risk management practices.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to understand strategy, requirements, risks, and controls.
- Utilize expertise to create technology decisions and relevant architecture artifacts.
- Develop evolutionary strategies and roadmaps to enhance capabilities for business functions or technology domains.
- Foster trusted relationships with stakeholders and engineering teams to guide architecture solutions and priorities.
- Assess domain applications to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
- Define and document architecture standards for compliance of technology solutions.
- Perform risk assessments and manage waivers to architecture standards.
- Engage in activities supporting USAA technology ecosystem, including planning, design reviews, and incident troubleshooting.
- Provide mentorship to new architects, engineers, and IT community colleagues.
- Maintain architecture domain documentation, ensuring timely delivery and suggesting improvements.
- Establish external connections with industry organizations and pursue professional eminence through presentations and publications.
- Ensure risks associated with business activities are identified and managed in accordance with compliance policies.
