Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree; OR 4 years of relevant experience can substitute for degree
- 10 years in the Information Technology field with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role
- Experience in technology application development and/or infrastructure and operational execution
- Deep knowledge in one technology domain (application, infrastructure, operations, etc.)
- Proven ability to articulate complex technical decisions to diverse audiences
- Strong relationship-building skills with management and stakeholders
- Understanding of technical architecture standards, principles, and risk management practices
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to assess strategy, requirements, and risks
- Utilize expertise to inform technology decisions and create relevant architecture documents
- Build productive relationships with stakeholders and engineering teams to guide architectural solutions
- Evaluate domain applications to identify strengths, weaknesses, and potential improvements
- Advise business owners on recommended actions regarding technology solutions
- Document and define architecture standards to ensure compliance across technology solutions
- Employ risk assessment methodologies to review architecture standards
- Support USAA technology initiatives through planning, solution design, and troubleshooting
- Mentor new architects and engineers in a supportive manner
- Maintain architecture documentation and enhance existing practices
- Network with external industry contacts and pursue professional development opportunities
- Ensure risks in business activities are identified and controlled per compliance policies
