We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field with a Core Quantitative Curriculum. Alternatively, an additional four years of relevant experience beyond the minimum required may be accepted in place of a degree. You should have a minimum of six years of pertinent work experience in model validation, model development, statistical analysis, and/or advanced quantitative research. An advanced degree (e.g., Master's or PhD) in a quantitative field can substitute for two years of experience, requiring four years of related work experience in the specified areas. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for conveying quantitative and technical concepts to non-technical audiences, senior leadership, auditors, and regulators are essential. Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, SAS, Java, C, SQL, or similar is required for the iterative methodological aspects of model and algorithm development. You should have in-depth experience with at least three of the following approaches: Unsupervised Learning, K-Means, Linear Regression, Time-Series/Forecasting, Stress Testing, Logistic Regression, Gaussian Process, Simulation Models, Boosting/Bagging Trees, Neural Networks, and Deep Learning Concepts. A solid understanding of operational functions in Banking and/or Insurance, along with relevant modeling and analytics expertise, is important.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will carry out independent model validation control activities for high-risk in-house and vendor models. Your responsibilities will include leveraging advanced technical methods to create and execute validation testing plans. You will replicate model development and may create challenger models using various techniques, such as predictive modeling, machine learning, and simulation methods. Additionally, you will conduct and formulate plans for model testing and evaluate data quality assessments for models using different datasets, including large and unstructured ones. You will review the comprehensive lifecycle management of model development and implementation, ongoing monitoring, and usage in Banking and Insurance sectors. Assessing model inherent risk ratings and conducting model change validations for various models will also be part of your duties. You will provide oversight and guidance on model validation activities conducted by your peers and produce validation reports for management and senior leadership.

Relocation assistance is not provided. The salary range for this position is $127,310.00 - $243,340.00, which may vary by location based on experience and the market.
