Requirements

Must:
- A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a Core Quantitative Curriculum. An additional 4 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree. - A minimum of 6 years of pertinent work experience in model validation, model development, statistical analysis, and/or advanced quantitative research, OR an advanced degree (e.g., Master's, PhD) in a quantitative field along with 4 years of relevant experience. - Proven ability to effectively communicate quantitative/technical concepts and findings to non-technical audiences, senior leadership, auditors, and regulators, both verbally and in writing. - Strong programming proficiency in R, Python, SAS, Java, C, SQL, or other similar languages, as it pertains to model and algorithm development, including model specifications, assumption testing, data quality assessments, variable selection, back-testing, benchmarking, and other comprehensive model testing techniques. - Extensive experience with at least three of the following techniques: Unsupervised Learning, K-Means, Linear Regression, Time-Series/Forecasting, Stress Testing, Logistic Regression, Gaussian Process, Simulation Models, Boosting/Bagging Trees, Neural Networks, Deep Learning Concepts, Bayesian Estimators. - Comprehensive knowledge of the operational and support functions within Banking and/or Insurance, as well as associated modeling and analytics expertise.

Responsibilities

- I will implement independent model validation controls for high-risk in-house and vendor models. - I will employ expert technical methodologies to design and execute validation testing plans. - I will replicate model development processes and potentially create challenger models using predictive modeling, machine learning, deep learning, time-series modeling/forecasting, stress testing, heuristic models, actuarial models, simulation, optimization, and other specialized techniques. - I will conduct and develop testing and data quality assessment plans for models, utilizing various dataset types, including large and unstructured datasets. - I will review, at an extensive experience level, the end-to-end lifecycle management of model development, implementation, ongoing monitoring, and usage in Banking and Insurance (Property & Casualty and Life) along with their relevant business support functions and operational processes. - I will assess model inherent risk ratings, declassifications, the significance of model modifications, and perform model change validations for all model types. - I will oversee and guide the validation work of my peers. - I will produce and deliver validation reports and related work to model validation management, partners, senior leadership, and others. - I will ensure that the model validation process aligns with risk and compliance policies and procedures. - I will evaluate model risk control strengths regarding development, implementation, and usage. - I will pursue professional development on emerging modeling techniques and methodologies.
