Requirements

Must:
We require a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field, such as Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline emphasizing a core quantitative curriculum. Additionally, four years of relevant experience beyond the minimum requirements can substitute for the degree. We ask for a minimum of six years of related experience in model validation, model development, statistical analysis, and/or advanced quantitative research. Alternatively, candidates with an advanced degree (e.g., Master’s, PhD) in a quantitative field and four years of relevant work experience in similar areas will also be considered. We seek individuals adept at articulating quantitative and technical concepts to non-technical audiences as well as to senior leadership, auditors, and/or regulators. Strong programming skills in languages such as R, Python, SAS, Java, C, SQL, or other comparable languages are essential. Furthermore, experience with at least three statistical, econometric, or predictive modeling approaches, and a solid understanding of the operational and support functions within Banking and/or Insurance, will set candidates apart.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will implement independent model validation controls for high-risk in-house and vendor models, utilizing specialized technical methods to develop and enact validation testing plans. You will replicate model development and may create challenger models employing a range of techniques including predictive modeling, machine learning, and actuarial models. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting and formulating model testing and data quality assessments using diverse datasets. Your thorough expertise in the entire lifecycle management of model development, implementation, monitoring, and usage in Banking and Insurance contexts will be invaluable. You will evaluate model inherent risk ratings, oversee peer validation work, and produce validation reports for management and other stakeholders. Additionally, aligning the model validation process with risk and compliance policies will be critical, as will your ongoing professional development in emerging modeling techniques.
