Requirements
Must:
I require a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a core quantitative curriculum. If you do not have a degree, four additional years of relevant experience beyond the minimum required will be considered. You should possess a minimum of 6 years of experience in model validation, model development, statistical analysis, or advanced quantitative research. Alternatively, an advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative field along with 4 years of related experience is acceptable. I expect experience in effectively communicating complex quantitative and technical concepts to non-technical audiences, senior leadership, auditors, and regulators. Strong programming skills in languages such as R, Python, SAS, Java, C, or SQL are essential for model and algorithm development. You should also have extensive experience with at least three statistical, econometric, data science, and predictive modeling approaches.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will implement independent model validation control activities for high-risk in-house and vendor models. You'll leverage advanced technical methods to develop and execute validation testing plans. I expect you to replicate model development and may even develop challenger models using various methodologies such as predictive modeling and machine learning. You will conduct and formulate plans for model testing and data quality assessments employing different types of datasets. Your responsibility will also include reviewing the entire lifecycle of model management within the Banking and Insurance sectors, including assessing model risk ratings and conducting model change validations. Additionally, you'll oversee the validation efforts of your peers, produce and present validation reports to management and senior leadership, and align validation processes with risk compliance policies.
