Requirements

Must:
We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field containing a core quantitative curriculum. Alternatively, four additional years of relevant experience can be substituted for the degree requirement. You should have a minimum of 6 years of experience in model validation, model development, statistical analysis, or advanced quantitative research. If you hold an advanced degree (e.g., Master's, PhD) in a quantitative field, you also need at least 4 years of related experience. Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to convey complex quantitative and technical concepts to non-technical audiences, senior leadership, and auditors are essential. Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, SAS, Java, C, and SQL is required for the iterative methodological practices involved in model and algorithm development. You should possess extensive experience with three or more statistical, econometric, data science, or predictive modeling techniques, as well as a solid understanding of the operational and support functions of Banking and/or Insurance.

Responsibilities

In this position, you will implement independent model validation control activities for high-risk in-house and vendor models. You will utilize technical expertise to create and execute validation testing plans and replicate model development through diverse techniques like predictive modeling, machine learning, and simulation. You'll conduct thorough model testing and data quality assessments using various datasets, including large and unstructured ones. Your role will involve reviewing the complete lifecycle of model development, implementation, and monitoring in the Banking and Insurance fields while assessing model risk ratings and materiality of changes. Additionally, you will oversee the model validation work of peers and present validation reports to management and senior leadership. Evaluating model risk control strengths during model development, implementation, and usage will also be part of your duties, along with continual professional development regarding emerging modeling techniques and practices.
