Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a quantitative analytics discipline such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Operations Research, Data and/or Business Analysis, Data Science, or a related quantitative field; OR 4 years of relevant experience in statistics, mathematics, or quantitative analytics may replace the degree requirement.
- 6 years of experience in data & analytics OR at least 4 years in data & analytics combined with up to 2 years of progressive functional business experience within the relevant industry (i.e., P&C, Banking, Finance, Marketing, etc.) for a total of 6 years combined experience OR an advanced degree in a quantitative analytics field and 4 years of industry-related data/analytics or functional business experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in advanced mathematical and statistical techniques that enhance fact-based decision-making.
- Extensive knowledge of data analysis tools, data visualization, and developing analysis queries using SQL, SAS, BI tools or other analysis software, coupled with relevant methods and the ability to correlate external insights to business challenges.
- Experience with new and emerging data sets and their integration (data wrangling, data munging) into actionable insights.
Responsibilities
- Utilize advanced business, analytical and technical expertise to engage in discussions with cross-functional teams, understand complex business objectives, and influence solution strategies.
- Employ advanced analytical methods to address medium to large-scale business issues that significantly impact current and future business strategies.
- Apply innovative and scientific quantitative analytical techniques to draw conclusions and make actionable recommendations to fulfill business objectives.
- Transform recommendations into communication materials for effective presentation to various management levels.
- Use visualization techniques to enhance the analysis and facilitate comprehension for less technical audiences.
- Identify, gather, and assess high-quality data sources crucial to thoroughly addressing the problem linked to the proposed strategy through testing or exploratory data exploration (EDA).
- Integrate and transform disparate data sources, ensuring proper data hygiene is applied.
- Carefully document assumptions, methodologies, validations, and tests to aid peer reviews and compliance requirements.
- Stay informed about new technologies that could impact scientific methodologies and quantitative analytical approaches for problem-solving.
- Present analysis findings clearly and persuasively to inform and sway management decisions, garner support for recommendations, and influence business strategy.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in realizing recommendations.
