Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a quantitative analytics field such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Operations Research, Data and/or Business Analysis, Data Science or other quantitative discipline;
- Alternatively, 4 years of relevant experience in statistics, mathematics or quantitative analytics may substitute for degree.
- 6 years of experience in data & analytics, OR a minimum of 4 years in data & analytics combined with up to 2 years of progressive functional business experience in relevant industries (i.e., P&C, Bank, Finance, Marketing).
- An advanced degree in a quantitative analytics subject along with 4 years of experience in data/analytics or relevant functional business experience may also qualify.
- Demonstrated proficiency in advanced mathematical and statistical methods supporting fact-based decision-making.
- Comprehensive knowledge of data analysis tools, data visualization, and capabilities in SQL, SAS, BI tools or similar analytical software.
- Familiarity with new and emerging data sets and data transformation techniques for insight generation.
Responsibilities
- Leverage advanced business, analytical, and technical knowledge to engage in discussions with cross-functional teams to comprehend and collaborate on complex business objectives and propose solution strategies.
- Utilize advanced analytical methods to address business challenges that are typically medium to large scale with significant implications for business strategy.
- Employ innovative and quantitative analytical strategies to derive conclusions and formulate actionable recommendations that align with business goals.
- Prepare communication materials to effectively present findings to varying levels of management.
- Implement visualization techniques to emphasize key analysis points and assist understanding for non-technical audiences.
- Identify and compile quality data sources necessary to thoroughly address problems for proposed strategies through testing or exploratory data analysis (EDA).
- Integrate and transform disparate data sources while applying appropriate data hygiene techniques.
- Document assumptions, methodologies, validations, and testing processes meticulously to support peer reviews and compliance requirements.
- Stay updated on new technologies that could impact scientific methodologies and quantitative analytical solutions.
- Present analytical findings succinctly to demonstrate understanding, garner support for recommendations, influence decisions, and drive business strategies.
- Provide subject matter expertise in the operationalization of recommendations.
- Stay informed on the latest trends in data and analytics (e.g., Cloud, Data Mining, Python, Neural Networks).
- Seek opportunities for continuous learning in data and analytics, whether through informal platforms (e.g., Coursera, Udemy) or formal education (e.g., certifications, advanced coursework).
- Ensure that risks associated with business activities are effectively identified and managed in line with risk and compliance policies.
