Requirements

Must:
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related area with a core quantitative curriculum. - Four additional years of relevant experience can substitute for a degree. - At least 6 years of experience in model validation, development, statistical analysis, and/or advanced quantitative research or an advanced degree in a quantitative field plus 4 years of relevant experience. - Proven experience articulating complex quantitative and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership and regulatory bodies. - Proficient programming skills in R, Python, SAS, Java, C, SQL, or other similar languages relevant to model development and algorithmic processes. - Extensive familiarity with at least three out of the following modeling techniques: Unsupervised Learning, K-Means, Linear Regression, Time-Series Modeling, Stress Testing, Logistic Regression, Gaussian Processes, Simulation Models, Boosting/Bagging Trees, Neural Networks, or Bayesian Estimators. - Strong knowledge of operational functions and analytics in Banking and/or Insurance environments.

Responsibilities

- Execute independent model validation protocols for high-risk internal and external models. - Utilize specialized technical methods to create and implement validation testing strategies. - Replicate model development processes and potentially create challenger models using advanced modeling techniques such as predictive modeling and deep learning. - Develop comprehensive testing plans and ensure data quality assessments for models using diverse datasets, including unstructured and large datasets. - Review the complete model lifecycle from development through implementation and ongoing monitoring in Banking and Insurance sectors. - Analyze inherent model risk ratings, classify model declassifications, assess material model changes, and validate model alterations across all types of models. - Oversee and mentor the model validation efforts of team members. - Prepare and present validation reports to management, model partners, leadership, and other stakeholders. - Align model validation processes with risk and compliance frameworks. - Evaluate the effectiveness of model risk controls related to development, deployment, and utilization. - Stay up-to-date with emerging modeling techniques and methods for professional advancement.
