Requirements
Must:
We require candidates to have a Bachelor's Degree in Business or a Science discipline, or alternatively, four years of relevant experience in data and analytics or a technical field can substitute for the degree requirement. Additionally, a minimum of two years of experience in an information management practice, data delivery, or a business application function is expected. Candidates with an advanced degree in Business or Science are also considered. A working knowledge of data management practices and an understanding of data governance theories and tools are necessary. You should have foundational SQL knowledge, an ability to build business acumen through meaningful partnerships, and demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Strong presentation and communication abilities are also essential.
Responsibilities
In this position, I will oversee and analyze information utilizing various tools and techniques. I will support data management efforts alongside business owners and technical teams, ensuring adherence to USAA’s policies and external regulations. My tasks will include maintaining information asset inventories, delivering information in line with governance standards, and documenting processes. I will help maintain a metadata repository, validate and document metadata, and develop and implement data quality rules. Monitoring data quality results and aiding in the creation and maintenance of master or reference data are also part of my responsibilities. Furthermore, I'll collaborate with IT for archiving data in compliance with legal standards and work on developing processes to manage data quality risks effectively.
