Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in mathematics, computer science, statistics, economics, finance, actuarial sciences, engineering, or a related quantitative field; or 4 years of experience in statistics or quantitative analytics may replace the degree requirement.
- At least 2 years of experience in predictive analytics or data analysis, or an advanced degree (e.g., Masters, PhD) in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in training and validating statistical and machine learning models.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, R, etc.) for statistical analysis and AI/ML model building.
- Ability to write clear, detailed, and well-commented code to enhance code transparency.
- Experience querying and preprocessing data from various databases using languages like SQL, HQL, NoSQL.
- Familiarity with various data formats including structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data files.
- Understanding of classical supervised modeling techniques for prediction (e.g., regression, decision trees).
- Familiarity with unsupervised modeling techniques (e.g., clustering algorithms).
- Strong communication skills to convey analytical results to non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop and continually enhance internal fraud models focused on transactions and payments.
- Apply a variety of statistical and AI/ML techniques to significantly reduce fraud loss and improve member experience.
- Collaborate with Strategies and Model Management teams to assess and plan modeling needs.
- Drive ongoing innovation in modeling practices.
- Work alongside the analytics community to share best practices and methodologies.
- Capture, interpret, and manipulate structured and unstructured data to support analytical solutions.
- Select appropriate modeling techniques while accounting for data limitations and business objectives.
- Create and execute models in alignment with the Model Development Control and Model Risk Management frameworks.
- Document technical processes for risk management and knowledge sharing.
- Mentor peers and collaborate with internal partners to ensure alignment with business specifications.
