Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a quantitative discipline such as Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Engineering, or Computer Science with a Core Quantitative Curriculum.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in model validation, model development, statistical analysis, or advanced quantitative research, or an advanced degree with 4 years of related experience.
- Proven ability to communicate complex quantitative and technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences, senior leadership, auditors, and regulators.
- Strong programming proficiency in languages such as R, Python, SAS, Java, C, SQL, or others relevant to model and algorithm development.
- Extensive experience with at least three statistical, econometric, or predictive modeling techniques, including but not limited to Unsupervised Learning, Time-Series Forecasting, Logistic Regression, or Deep Learning.
- Solid understanding of operational and support functions within Banking and/or Insurance sectors combined with associated analytical techniques.
Responsibilities
- Execute independent model validation control initiatives for high-risk in-house and vendor models.
- Develop and apply validation testing plans using expert technical methodologies.
- Replicate model development processes and create challenger models using sophisticated techniques such as predictive modeling and machine learning.
- Conduct model testing and assess data quality for various datasets, including large and unstructured ones.
- Review and manage the complete lifecycle of model development, implementation, monitoring, and usage, specifically in Banking and Insurance contexts.
- Evaluate model risk ratings, perform declassifications, assess material changes to models, and validate model changes across varying types.
- Supervise and guide the model validation efforts of team members.
- Produce comprehensive validation reports for management, model partners, and senior leaders.
- Ensure compliance with risk and validation policies and processes.
- Analyze model risk control measures around development, implementation, and usage.
- Engage in professional development regarding emerging modeling techniques and strategies.
