Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a quantitative analytics field (e.g., Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Operations Research, Data Science)
- 8 years of experience in decision support analytics, or 6 years with an advanced degree
- 3 years of direct experience in team leadership or management
- Proficiency in mathematical and statistical techniques relevant to business strategy
- Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, SAS, BI tools) and best practices in data visualization
- Experience with emerging data sets and analytical methodologies
Responsibilities
- Drive the strategic direction for the business using analytical techniques and innovative approaches
- Establish the teams reputation as experts in decision science support
- Oversee analytical tasks including problem evaluation, methodology development, and presentation of findings
- Stay informed about emerging technologies relevant to scientific methodologies and quantitative analytics
- Identify resource needs and provide justifications for additional support
- Understand business strategies to shape the analytics direction accordingly
- Collaborate with enterprise analytics teams to enhance USAA’s core capabilities
- Facilitate team recruitment, development, and performance management
- Mentor team members in advanced mathematical techniques and decision-making approaches
- Research best practices in data and analytics to enhance community knowledge
- Collaborate with IT partners to integrate new data platforms and skill sets
