Requirements

Must:
- Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted for the degree. - 6 years of relevant experience in Security Engineering and/or Information Technology with a security focus, including experience leading enterprise technology projects or initiatives. - 4 years of experience delivering technology solutions in all phases of the solution development lifecycle. - Proven experience guiding security strategies, solutions, and initiatives, with a demonstrated ability to drive these efforts to successful completion. - Familiarity with modern programming/scripting languages and frameworks. - Experience designing, implementing, and leading security engineering activities using modern DevSecOps practices. - Demonstrated hands-on success with agile delivery methods and a strong desire to be flexible while delivering value early and often. - Proven ability to resolve complex production issues by troubleshooting applications and systems. - Experience working with platform engineering concepts focusing on security best practices in infrastructure/policy as code, security architecture design patterns, security vendor integrations, and CI/CD pipelines with built-in application security controls. - Experience implementing event-driven security architecture, methods, and controls. - Familiarity with cloud and emerging technologies such as Public Cloud, Containerization, Security Data Lakes, Machine Learning/AI, etc.

Responsibilities

- I oversee ensuring that security requirements are adequately addressed in all aspects of solution/application enablement and sustainment lifecycle. - I design, develop, code, integrate, and test complex cross-functional technical solutions with a strong focus on security, often collaborating with Engineers or Architects outside of my team or department. - I lead the team in conducting code/design reviews and engineering efficiencies to ensure effective operations and accurate planning. - I support the resolution of complex production issues and troubleshoot end-to-end solutions that span multiple applications and systems. - I work with architecture to define directions for cross-functional or highly complex key technologies within a specified security domain. - I actively participate in internal and external training opportunities, conferences, and professional societies to drive community impact. - I leverage Site Reliability Engineering practices within my domain and effectively identify, measure, monitor, and control risks associated with my domain activities in accordance with risk and compliance policies. - I support cross-functional efforts across the enterprise as a subject matter expert in my domain and monitor and troubleshoot complex systems, tools, and vendor integrations. - I continuously research, analyze, and troubleshoot to identify, resolve, and report on complex security issues. - I collaborate with Security Analysts, IT, and Business Partners to adjust, harden, and enhance Security solutions and technologies to adapt to the latest trends and threats. - I provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth while ensuring the team remains current with the latest security trends and technologies. - I ensure that risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies.

The Cyber Threat Fusion & Emulation (CTFE) Team is looking for a Cyber Threat Intelligence Senior Engineer to manage and maintain USAA’s Cyber Threat Intelligence infrastructure and malware analysis capabilities. This role is essential for the success of our Cyber Threat Operation Center (CTOC) mission and is integral to building and integrating all of USAA’s threat-centric analytic capabilities. We offer a flexible work environment, requiring individuals to be in the office four days a week, with positions available in locations such as San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, or Charlotte, NC. Compensation for this position ranges from $127,310 to $243,340, and relocation assistance is not available. We assess market data to ensure competitive compensation, and the actual salary may vary based on location.
