Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor’s Degree, or 4 years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree
- 10 years of experience in the Information Technology sector, including at least 2 years in a technical leadership role
- Experience in technology application development or infrastructure and operational implementation
- Extensive knowledge in at least one technology domain from various perspectives such as application, infrastructure, and operations
- Proven ability to communicate complex technology decisions to diverse audiences
- Experience in establishing strong, trusting relationships with management and stakeholders
- Understanding of technical architecture standards, principles, and relevant regulations
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to grasp strategy, requirements, risks, and controls for technology domains
- Utilize expertise to create architectural artifacts that inform technology decisions and establish roadmaps for business functions
- Build productive relationships with stakeholders to guide priorities, execution, and architecture solutions
- Evaluate domain applications with business owners to identify strengths and areas for improvement
- Define and document architecture standards for compliance with technological solutions
- Use risk assessment methodologies for waivers to architecture standards
- Engage in activities supporting the USAA technology ecosystem such as planning, solution reviews, and troubleshooting production issues
- Mentor new architects and engineers in a respectful and collaborative manner
- Maintain architecture domain documentation and ensure timely completion of deliverables
- Cultivate external relationships within industry organizations and pursue technical certifications or contributions to community initiatives
- Ensure risks from business activities are identified, measured, and controlled according to compliance policies
