Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a Core Quantitative Curriculum. - Alternatively, 4 additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree. - Minimum of 6 years of experience in model validation, model development, statistical analysis, or advanced quantitative research. - Or an advanced degree (e.g., Masters, PhD) in a quantitative field with 4 years of related experience. - Proven ability to communicate quantitative and technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences. - Proficiency in programming languages including R, Python, SAS, Java, C, SQL, or similar for model and algorithm development. - Extensive experience with at least three statistical, econometric, data science, or predictive modeling methods such as Unsupervised Learning, Linear Regression, Time-Series/Forecasting, or Neural Networks. - Strong understanding of operational and support functions in Banking and/or Insurance alongside modeling and analytics expertise.

Responsibilities

- Conduct independent model validation activities for both in-house and vendor models deemed high risk. - Utilize advanced technical methods to create and implement validation testing frameworks. - Replicate model development processes and potentially create challenger models through various modeling techniques such as machine learning, deep learning, and simulation. - Develop and execute plans for model testing and data quality assessments across diverse datasets, including large and unstructured data. - Thoroughly review the full model lifecycle, from development and implementation to ongoing monitoring and application in Banking and Insurance contexts. - Assess inherent risk ratings of models, manage model declassification applications, and validate significant model changes. - Supervise and guide the model validation efforts of colleagues. - Deliver validation reports and relevant validation work to management, model partners, and senior leadership. - Ensure that the model validation processes align with risk and compliance policies and practices. - Evaluate model risk management strengths throughout model development and utilization. - Stay updated on emerging modeling techniques and methodologies.
