Requirements
Must:
- Eligibility to serve in the United States Navy, which may involve citizenship or legal residency status
- A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification for enlisted roles; a bachelors or relevant professional degree for officer positions
- Age limits as set by law and Navy policy, which may vary by program
- Medical, vision, and dental standards must be met, including physical fitness requirements
- Character and conduct standards including background checks
- Required test scores such as the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery for enlisted positions or officer qualification tests for officer roles
- Eligibility for a security clearance, contingent on rating or designator requirements
- Strong interest and aptitude in areas like computers, networks, cyber operations, and analytical tasks
- United States citizenship or equivalent status, with most positions requiring citizenship
Responsibilities
- Design, manage, secure, and restore networks, servers, and communication systems to support naval operations
- Conduct offensive and defensive cyber operations as a Cryptologic Technician Networks specialist
- Investigate and monitor adversarial activities to protect Navy networks and essential systems
- Collect and analyze intelligence on adversaries, environmental factors, and weather conditions
- Produce intelligence products and deliver briefings for commanders
- Engage in a mix of help desk support and network/system administration, incident response, and maintenance tasks
