Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of 10 years experience in managing and administering data tools and techniques
- Expertise with Mainframe Db2 and IMS database management systems
- Familiarity with IMS Managed ACBs is preferred
- Profound understanding of database design methodologies and relational database concepts
- Skilled in SQL, stored procedures, functions, and creating database objects
- Extensive experience utilizing IMS and Db2 utilities, especially those from BMC Software
- Solid background in operational/support roles with knowledge of incident/problem/change management
- Experience in monitoring Mainframe Infrastructure and Databases with BMC AMI Ops (Mainview) is preferred
- Strong technical and business acumen regarding organizational policies and procedures
- Excellent analytical, proactive problem-solving, project management, and tactical planning skills
- Proven management, leadership, and interpersonal abilities
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication prowess
- Familiarity with ServiceNow is a plus
Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, development, maintenance, and security of complex databases
- Provide strategic technical guidance to the database programming team, IT, and the entire enterprise
- Coordinate with other IT sectors to address software issues
- Supervise contributions and efforts from clients of other IT functions to enhance databases and master files
- Conduct technical audits of internal databases
- Handle tasks such as backup and recovery, database consistency checks, and data loading/unloading
- Identify new initiatives and propose recommendations for database growth and integration
