Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent professional experience
- 6 to 8 years of relevant industry experience
- Proven expertise in data architecture and platform design for large organizations
- Familiarity with data sharing, data mesh, or domain-driven architecture principles
- Strong analytical abilities with a history of delivering efficient, scalable data solutions
- Extensive experience with Azure Data Platform services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Synapse Analytics
- Knowledge of AWS data services such as AWS Glue, S3, and event-driven integrations
- Profound experience with Databricks, focusing on Spark, Delta Lake, and optimization techniques
- Solid understanding of Snowflake, including data modeling and ingestion practices
- Proficiency in Apache Spark for large-scale data operations
- Experience in creating reusable, domain-oriented data products
- Familiarity with API integrations and messaging systems
- Understanding security measures like IAM, RBAC, OAuth 2.0, TS/mTLS, and JWT
- Experience in facilitating self-service analytics with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
Preferred qualifications include:
- Involvement in AI initiatives through data platforms
- Previous experience in financial services or regulated industries
- Relevant professional certifications in Microsoft Azure or AWS
- A Masters degree in a relevant technical discipline
Responsibilities
- Design, construct, and sustain cloud-native data pipelines and data products using Azure and AWS technologies, such as Databricks and Snowflake
- Lead efforts to modernize and migrate legacy on-premise data platforms to cloud-based systems
- Apply batch and streaming data processing methods utilizing Spark and cloud-native functionalities
- Collaborate with data governance, security, and risk management teams to ensure regulatory compliance of data products
- Facilitate secure data sharing and access protocols across various domains using appropriate controls
- Establish and advocate for best practices in data engineering, covering CI/CD, testing, monitoring, performance enhancement, and cost management
- Engage with product owners and data analytics teams to convert business requirements into well-structured, high-quality datasets
- Work alongside cloud and security architects to design and implement secure, scalable, and robust data solutions
- Provide support and mentorship to junior engineers through design and code reviews, as well as offering technical direction
