Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Healthcare Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience with enterprise physical security systems, particularly in healthcare settings
- Knowledge of access control, video surveillance (CCTV), and emergency communication systems
- Ability to obtain vendor certifications such as CCure 9000, Zenitel Stentofon, CenTrak, DSC, and HID SAFE
- Familiarity with Windows Server and VMware vSphere environments
- Understanding of networking principles including DNS, DHCP, and IP addressing
- Relevant experience may substitute for educational qualifications
Responsibilities
- Maintain and support enterprise electronic security systems including access control, video surveillance, RFID safety systems, and intrusion alarms
- Configure system parameters, user roles, and device connections in security platforms
- Oversee automated data management related to access provisioning and system interactions
- Conduct system evaluations, updates, patches, and regular upkeep of security technologies
- Produce reports, audits, and operational metrics to verify system functionality and precision
- Diagnose system problems and collaborate with IT teams and external vendors for service recovery
- Assist with installations, expansions, and upgrades of systems across University Health facilities
- Engage in incident, problem, and change management workflows
- Provide after-hours and on-call support for essential security systems as necessary
Description
We are University Health, dedicated to providing a safe and secure environment across our healthcare facilities. We are looking for an Electronic Security Systems Engineer to help us uphold the integrity of our physical and electronic security technologies. Our team collaborates closely with Information Systems, Protective Services, and various vendors to ensure the highest levels of security. This role will involve working in hospital facilities, technical environments, and data centers across our locations, requiring potential travel between sites. We offer a dynamic work environment and participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation to support critical security systems.
