Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree required
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in Epic application support, healthcare IT, or research systems preferred
- Knowledge of Epic Hospital Billing or Professional Billing operations is desirable
- Familiarity with clinical trials or biomedical research in a hospital context is beneficial
- Experience in end-user training is a plus
- Basic understanding of relational databases
- Basic proficiency in SQL (for all roles aside from Research, Admin, and Interop)
- Ability to leverage existing reusable data sources for analytics and visualizations
- Strong problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- High responsiveness to internal customer needs

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and manage Epic Research solutions and related configurations to assist approved research initiatives
- Update, alter, and uphold reports and analytics to support the Epic Research application and other connected systems, utilizing existing reusable data sources when feasible
- Collaborate in extending Epic Research functionalities to novel sites and entities within UNC Health
- Strategize for and engage in upgrades, patches, and revisions; proficiently and safely build and implement necessary adjustments
- Fulfill technical support requests for Epic Research and related tools, ensuring that systems and operations remain scalable, reliable, and recoverable
- Participate in data governance and stewardship initiatives as relevant
- Craft and maintain clear documentation that outlines program development, configuration, modifications, and troubleshooting, ensuring updates reflect functional and interface changes
- Support departmental and organizational objectives in everyday tasks, including institution-wide research goals
- Collaborate consistently with Epic teams and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive integration across applications
- Offer technical support and advice to users within the research community and other internal customers
- Communicate in a clear, concise manner while being sensitive to political and cultural dynamics, maintaining high standards of service
- Work efficiently in a team environment, demonstrating the ability to handle multiple responsibilities concurrently
- Actively seek knowledge about the tools, technologies, and methodologies utilized within the organization, including Epic Research and related modules and interoperability tools
- Pursue opportunities for professional growth through training, conferences, and certifications
