Requirements

Must:
We are looking for an individual with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred). You should possess over 5 years of embedded software development experience, particularly in motion control or mechatronic systems. Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems, along with experience in bare-metal development, is essential. A strong foundation in motor control algorithms (such as stepper, servo, BLDC, or DC motors) is necessary. Familiarity with communication protocols including CAN, CANopen, SPI, I2C, UART, or Ethernet is required. Knowledge of control theory, PID tuning, and real-time signal processing is important. Experience with software development tools (like debuggers, emulators, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers) is expected. An understanding of medical device standards (IEC 62304, IEC 60601) is advantageous. Strong problem-solving, debugging, and collaboration skills will be vital for success in this role.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will design, develop, and test embedded software for motion control systems utilized in medical imaging equipment, including motors, actuators, and positioning devices. You will implement and enhance real-time control algorithms for accurate motion and positioning. Collaborating with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers, you will integrate motion control subsystems with imaging hardware. Develop software architecture, drivers, and interfaces for microcontrollers, DSPs, and real-time operating systems. Conduct system-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis for any hardware/software integration challenges. You will ensure compliance with IEC 62304 (the medical device software standard), FDA regulations, and ISO 13485 quality standards. Additionally, you will write and maintain technical documentation, including requirements, design specifications, and verification protocols, while supporting prototype builds, testing, and design validation. Participation in design reviews, code reviews, and risk management activities will also be expected.
