Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
- Over 5 years of experience in embedded software development, particularly in motion control or mechatronic systems.
- Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
- Familiarity with bare-metal development.
- Strong background in motor control algorithms (stepper, servo, BLDC, or DC motors).
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, CANopen, SPI, I2C, UART, or Ethernet.
- Understanding of control theory, PID tuning, and real-time signal processing.
- Experience with software development tools (debuggers, emulators, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
- Awareness of medical device standards (IEC 62304, IEC 60601) is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, debugging skills, and collaboration capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test embedded software for motion control systems including motors, actuators, and positioning devices utilized in our medical imaging equipment.
- Implement and refine real-time control algorithms for precise motion and positioning.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering teams to integrate motion control subsystems with imaging hardware.
- Develop software architecture, drivers, and interfaces for microcontrollers, DSPs, and real-time operating systems.
- Conduct troubleshooting at the system level and perform root cause analysis for hardware/software integration challenges.
- Ensure adherence to IEC 62304 (medical device software standard), FDA regulations, and ISO 13485 quality standards.
- Write and maintain technical documentation including requirements, design specifications, and verification protocols.
- Support prototype builds, testing, and validation of designs.
- Engage in design reviews, code reviews, and risk management activities.
