Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in web application development with a solid understanding of Java and JavaScript
- Proven track record in a senior engineer, team lead, or similar position demonstrating coaching and mentorship abilities
- Familiarity with database design methodologies and techniques
- Proficient in using Git and GitHub for version control
- Experience in developing secure web applications, ensuring user authentication, role-based access control, n-tier architecture, data encryption, and input validation
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects concurrently
- Strong communication skills along with problem-solving capabilities and eagerness to learn new technologies
- Knowledge of security standards and practices
- Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-driven and innovative mindset
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee a team of developers, providing direct supervision of individual performance and conducting annual reviews
- Foster the technical growth of the development team through hands-on coaching and mentoring
- Establish and sustain professional relationships with Account Managers and State Agencies for software project planning and execution
- Act as the accountable owner for the health and success of projects handled by the designated team
- Serve as the main technical liaison for our partners
- Oversee application architecture, development, and maintenance for the assigned team, collaborating closely with the Director of Technology and peers
- Create and maintain technical documentation, presentations, and reports for partners and management
- Ensure adherence to standard operations and that the application meets security requirements, participating actively in security testing and remediation
- Identify potential development issues impacting projects or business operations, raising them with the Director of Technology and Account Manager as needed
- Evaluate opportunities for enhancing product architecture technically
- Ensure development teams are equipped with the right specifications and resources, providing estimated timelines while keeping projects on track
- Lead the planning and sequencing of developers work
- Contribute to annual business and budget planning efforts
- Design and implement web-based applications, APIs, and services using a variety of technologies, including Java, NodeJS, and ReactJS, alongside open standards such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
- Experience with AWS cloud services is advantageous
- Analyze, design, code, and implement both simple and complex internet and e-commerce applications employing efficient methodologies and tools
- Maintain confidentiality and security throughout the work cycle
- Investigate operational issues and user queries as they arise
- Collaborate with other managers to keep Tyler Alabama informed and promote shared code libraries
- Enforce quality and testing standards within the development team
- Participate in the teams on-call rotation
