Must:
I am looking for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or GIS, although equivalent professional experience is acceptable. Additionally, a minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and developing multi-tier browser-based applications, ideally with our specified technology stack, is necessary. Familiarity with Enterprise GIS systems, particularly using ArcGIS Server and other ESRI technologies, is highly preferred. Experience with scripting languages like Python and mobile app development, as well as cloud hosting, would be beneficial. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment utilizing Agile development methodologies.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will expect you to collaborate with others to clarify requirements, design solutions, and create applications that address specified business needs. You will contribute to and validate software design schemes and models, adhere to coding standards and best practices, and write and test code while thoroughly documenting and implementing functionally appropriate, technically sound, and well-integrated application systems. Your participation in and conduction of code reviews will be vital. You will also maintain existing application programs by debugging or enhancing functionalities. Ensuring the integrity of programs, modules, and systems through comprehensive testing is crucial. Additionally, I encourage you to utilize new technologies and tools to improve our applications and to provide mentorship to less experienced team members, ensuring successful knowledge transfer and training aligned with our departmental objectives.
