Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Over 3 years of experience in a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), Quality Engineer, or similar capacity
- Proficient programming skills in one or more languages (C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python)
- Familiar with test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, NUnit, xUnit)
- Experienced in API testing with knowledge of microservices and event-driven systems
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and relevant tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)
- Familiarity with applications deployed on cloud platforms (preferably Azure)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail
- Preferred: Experience with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, k6)
- Preferred: Understanding of contract testing (e.g., Pact)
- Preferred: Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, ELK)
- Preferred: Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare or government
- Preferred: Understanding of modern engineering practices including CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure as code
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, architects, and developers to establish acceptance criteria, test strategies, and automation needs
- Design, implement, and maintain automated frameworks for unit, integration, API, UI, and end-to-end testing
- Participate in the development and improvement of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless and scalable automated testing integration
- Assist in environmental smoke testing
- Advocate for and support test-driven development (TDD), behavior-driven development (BDD), and shift-left testing methodologies
- Define, monitor, and present test coverage, defect metrics, and system reliability reports
- Develop and execute performance, load, and security tests as required
- Ensure test strategies adhere to cloud-native design principles, including microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, and containerized setups
- Work alongside QA and DevOps teams to enhance test execution speed, reliability, and reporting accuracy across different environments
- Identify and mitigate risks, gaps, and dependencies linked to testing and quality assurance
