Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems, Nursing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience supporting clinical applications in a hospital or healthcare setting
- Experience with vendor-supported healthcare software solutions
- Familiarity with clinical workflows in inpatient environments
- Knowledge of healthcare privacy and security regulations, particularly HIPAA
- Strong understanding of inpatient care processes and patient needs
- Proficient in diagnosing and resolving application and integration issues
- Ability to ensure vendor solutions meet clinical and operational needs
- Advocate for clinician and patient experiences in system design and enhancements
- Commitment to maintaining privacy and security standards
Responsibilities
- Provide support and optimization for the inpatient video visit application and related peripherals (e.g., bedside tablets, cameras, audio devices)
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate resolutions to reduce disruptions in patient care
- Manage system configurations, templates, and user roles according to clinical workflows
- Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, case managers, and ancillary services to integrate video visits into inpatient care workflows
- Analyze clinical workflows and propose enhancements to improve patient interaction, remote rounding, specialist consultations, and family visits
- Ensure the platform adheres to infection control protocols, patient safety measures, and accessibility standards
- Act as the primary operational liaison for the video visit software vendor
- Coordinate vendor updates, patches, and feature rollouts according to change management protocols
- Validate new functionalities and verify compatibility with integrated systems
- Support integration efforts with EHR systems, scheduling tools, identity management, and patient portals
- Aid in data mapping, interface validation, and troubleshooting concerning HL7/FHIR interfaces and APIs
- Ensure thorough documentation of integration points and data flows
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and organizational privacy policies
- Engage in security reviews, access audits, and risk assessments
- Protect sensitive health information (PHI) in system configurations and workflows
- Create training materials and deliver education to end-users, including clinicians and support staff
- Contribute to go-live efforts, on-site support, and immediate assistance during new unit launches
- Collect user feedback and promote adoption through workflow enhancements and usability improvements
- Address incidents and service requests related to inpatient video visits
- Participate in root cause analyses for patient-impacting issues
- Assist with change control processes, testing, and validation of releases
Description
We are seeking a talented IT Application Analyst to join our Business Transformation practice located in Rochester, MN, with a hybrid schedule of 3-4 days onsite.
