Requirements
Must:
- Foundational knowledge of essential AWS services or completion of related coursework/certification (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner)
- Basic familiarity with Linux or Windows systems, especially in secure, managed settings
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Understanding of fundamental networking principles, including VPCs, subnets, routing, firewalls, and DNS
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
- Strong desire to develop skills in cloud engineering within a regulated environment
Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup and management of AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, RDS, Lambda) to support insurance operations and data platforms
- Aid senior engineers in implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation while adhering to our governance standards
- Help ensure secure and compliant cloud environments aligned with life insurance and financial services regulations (e.g., data retention, encryption, logging)
- Monitor AWS resources and assist in troubleshooting performance or access issues in line with SLAs for customer service, underwriting, and claims systems
- Engage in CI/CD processes for deploying internal applications and automation that support business functions
- Contribute to comprehensive documentation required for internal audits, incident reviews, continuity planning, and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate closely with security, risk, and compliance teams to maintain proper tagging, access controls, and resource standards
- Continue enhancing cloud knowledge through active mentorship and structured training opportunities
