Requirements
Must:
- Comprehensive understanding and broad application of technical principles, theories, and concepts
- Strong ability to communicate technical solutions to a diverse audience and various stakeholders
- Capable of independently determining and devising approaches to problem-solving
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in network engineering within enterprise environments
- Proficiency in network design, implementation, and security measures
- Experience working on classified enterprise networks
- Familiarity with encryption devices such as TACLANEs
- Knowledge in managing firewalls
- Certification in one or more of the following: CCNA+ Security, CYSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Sec+, CND, SSCP, CASP, CISSP
- Cisco CCNA or a higher certification
- TS/SCI clearance
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking
Responsibilities
- Design and strategize network communication systems
- Provide detailed specifications and schematics for network architecture
- Conduct cost/benefit analyses and offer comprehensive information regarding hardware and software selection, implementation methods, and tools for optimal business solutions
- Test and evaluate network designs
- Monitor operations of network hardware to ensure configurations are correct
- Plan and coordinate enhancements and upgrades to the network
- Advise users regarding hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations
- Maintain technical proficiency in networking and computer hardware and software interoperability, including routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, and gateways
- Assess and report on emerging communication technologies to improve network capabilities; may also oversee the systems administration function and associated staff
