Senior Power BI Developer & Data Analyst

Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development.
- Advanced proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), data modeling, and data visualization.
- Expert-level skills in SQL, capable of writing complex joins, CTEs, window functions, aggregations, and multi-table queries independently.
- Ability to quickly create SQL scripts from business requirements and reverse-engineer existing logic as needed.
- Experience in profiling data and understanding database schemas, including identifying keys and diagnosing data quality issues.
- Familiarity with integrating data through APIs, ODBC connectors, and other modern ingestion methods.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres) and building new views, tables, or stored logic for reporting.
- Knowledge of AWS S3 and data lake concepts and how Power BI interacts with those architectures.
- Strong understanding of data architecture and ETL processes.
- Comfort in working with incomplete or messy data and resolving key mismatches.
- Ability to swiftly translate business discussions into technical requirements and deliver functional dashboards.
- Excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Develop visually engaging, insight-driven dashboards in Power BI for both executive and operational uses.
- Transform SQL queries, Excel KPIs, and multi-system datasets into interactive visuals in Power BI.
- Design robust data models, develop DAX measures, and enhance report performance.
- Establish standards for layout, user experience, storytelling, and consistent design.
- Connect Power BI to various sources, including APIs, ODBC, cloud connectors, and flat files.
- Collaborate with IT and external vendors to utilize data lakes and pipelines effectively.
- Create and manage ETL/ELT workflows and necessary data transformations.
- Address complex data relationships, ensuring accuracy across systems.
- Convert verbal business requirements into measurable KPIs and dashboards.
- Understand operational processes and incorporate them into analytics.
- Validate data, identify inconsistencies, and propose data-driven solutions.
- Deliver high-quality dashboards swiftly, even when confronted with unfamiliar systems.
- Communicate progress clearly and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Operate with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and meticulous attention to detail.
