Requirements

Must:
- 14+ years of comprehensive software development experience, advancing into technical leadership roles - 8+ years of practical experience in AI/ML, covering model creation, deployment, and operational management - Proven record of overseeing enterprise-scale AI/ML or Generative AI projects from start to finish - Strong foundation in financial services, banking, or regulated industry preferred - Previous experience within large corporations like NYL is advantageous - Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, or a related discipline - Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, and SQL - Experience with backend frameworks like FastAPI and Flask, combined with microservices architecture

Responsibilities

- Provide AI/ML and engineering guidance throughout the complete solution lifecycle, from design to deployment and optimization - Make architectural decisions for machine learning platforms, Generative AI technologies, and data pipelines that support modernization efforts - Serve as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for AI/ML, establishing design standards and best practices - Mentor ML engineers and developers, ensuring high standards of code quality, scalability, and reliability - Spearhead the modernization of legacy analytics systems by implementing cloud-native ML architectures and microservices - Design and implement batch and real-time ML systems, including forecasting engines and risk models - Facilitate the adoption of Generative AI in various applications such as document intelligence and workflow automation - Build and manage scalable API services and models using advanced frameworks - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to convert intricate business challenges into effective AI/ML solutions - Lead technical discussions, design reviews, and coordination of strategic roadmaps with stakeholders
